Croatian shipbuilder Brodosplit has entered into an agreement to construct a new polar expedition cruise ship, of LMG Marin design, for Quark Expeditions.
Built to Polar Class 6 standard, the ship will be constructed specifically for the high latitudes of the Arctic and Antarctica.
To feature a length of 128 meters and a width of 21.5 meters, the vessel will accommodate 200 passengers and will be staffed with 116 crew members.
The project is scheduled for completion in time for the 2020/2021 Antarctic sailing season.
The Government of the Republic of Croatia decided in its 96th Session to issue a warranty for a refund of the buyer’s advanced payment, which secured construction financing and fulfilled one of the conditions of the agreement with the buyer, Brodosplit informed.
